Details: The ACT Office of the Surveyor-General and Land Information is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and proactive person to lead a small team which supports the delivery and maintenance of the ACT Government place naming processes which includes supporting the work of the ACT Place Names Advisory Committee.

Placenames in the ACT are enduring and reflect a national focus in commemorating persons of national significance and things characteristic of Australia which may include words from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages. This requires extensive research and stakeholder engagement to ensure appropriate place naming outcomes are achieved. To that end we are looking for a proactive leader with strong communication and research skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders.

The successful applicant will be expected to prepare responses to Ministerial correspondence, discussion papers to inform policy processes. This is an opportunity to be part of a small team that makes a significant contribution to ACT place naming now and into the future.
