Details: The Homelessness Services, Housing and Homelessness Programs and Policy Branch plays a pivotal role in ensuring that people who are at risk of or experience homelessness in Canberra community have access to high quality support services.

We are looking for a Senior Director (Senior Officer Grade A) with demonstrated experience in core government business processes, program development, service design, project management and evaluation. We are looking for people with influencing, negotiation and engagement capabilities and an ability to develop and use relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders, including as part of commissioning processes with the homelessness sector.

The Homelessness Services team carries a significant workload which can change rapidly in response to the needs of the Homelessness sector, and team members must be able to effectively manage multiple issues at once. It is important that you can identify / prioritise issues and implement practical solutions.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Essential

  • Sound understanding of government business and government decision making processes.
  • Experience in preparing briefs and related correspondence.
  • As this role is likely to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people, cultural awareness, and capacity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable.

Desirable but not essential experience

  • Experience with and a understanding of the Specialist Homelessness Information Platform (SHIP).
  • Experience in the management of government contracts.
