Details: The Child and Family Workers (Health Professional Officer Level 3) play a vital role in delivering culturally proficient interventions and group programs for children and families across the ACT. Based at one of the three Child and Family Centres (Tuggeranong, Gungahlin, or West Belconnen), this full-time position works within an integrated team to support early intervention and prevention services.

The role involves outreach work in schools and communities, developing sustainable partnerships with government and non-government agencies, and contributing to community education initiatives. The successful candidate will have experience in psychosocial assessments, early intervention strategies, and integrated service delivery. Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology (6-year degree), Early Childhood Teaching/Education, or Community Education/Development with a focus on child development.
  • Minimum of three years’ practice experience working with children and families.
  • Current driver’s licence is essential.
  • This position requires a pre-employment medical.
  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
  • As this role is likely to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people, cultural awareness, and capacity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable
