Details: There is an exciting opportunity in the Health and Community Service Directorate’s Health Legal Policy team for permanent position as an Assistant Director.
The Health Legal Policy team is a small team with a big impact. Health Legal Policy leads the Health and Community Services Directorate’s engagement with the legislative cycle for all health and mental health portfolio laws. The team supports review and reform of legislation across the health and mental health portfolios, and contributes to the review of key legislation across the ACT.
As part of the Health Legal Policy team, you will use your legal or legal policy experience to make a real difference to the community and improve health service delivery in the Territory.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in law reform and a demonstrated understanding of relevant laws.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated organisational skills to manage competing priorities, and work effectively within a high performing team.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Qualification in law is highly desirable.
- Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
