Details: The Client Services Branch within the Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD) plays a vital role in supporting over 11,000 public housing tenancies across the ACT. As the primary interface between Housing Assistance and the community, we are committed to delivering high-quality, client-centred services that promote sustainable tenancies and long-term housing solutions.
Our branch oversees property condition monitoring and provides expert advice on asset maintenance, ensuring homes remain safe, secure, and well-maintained. We also coordinate support services and community participation programs that empower tenants and strengthen community connections.
About the Role
The Assistant Director role sits within Tenant Experience which is part of the Client Services Branch. As part of Tenancy Services, you will lead a dedicated team of tenancy management professionals—including Housing Managers, Team Leaders, Tenant Support and Community Connections Officers, and Housing Practitioners. Together, you will deliver tailored tenancy programs that support clients with complex or critical needs, helping them maintain stable housing and improve their quality of life.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- At least five (5) years of practical experience working with a diverse range of clients with complex support needs.
- Current driver's license is essential.

- As this role is likely to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and young people, cultural awareness, and capacity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is highly desirable.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to 12 months with the possibility of permanency. A merit pool or merit list will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
