Details: Are you a strategic policy professional with a passion for improving health outcomes for the community? The Health Policy and Strategy Branch within the Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Officer Grade C (SOGC) to contribute to the development and delivery of key health policy initiatives for the ACT Government.
In this role, you will work collaboratively across HCSD and with other ACT Government directorates to provide high-level strategic policy and project advice. You will contribute to a diverse range of health policy areas, primarily focused on primary care and community-based services, including programs that support priority populations, improve integration of care, promote equitable access to services, and address the social determinants of health. You will also contribute to national reforms and initiatives such as Healthdirect and Strengthening Medicare.
The successful applicant will lead and support the design, development, implementation and evaluation of policy initiatives, programs and projects. You will prepare complex ministerial and executive briefings, Cabinet submissions, correspondence, speeches and responses to Legislative Assembly business, and develop productive relationships with stakeholders across government and the community sector.

Notes: This is a temporary position available until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. A merit pool or merit list will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
