Details: The Children, Youth and Families Division of Community Services Directorate (CSD) has a temporary vacancy and looking for and experience Information Access Officer to join the team.

The Information Access Officer will through a range of supporting activities to manage requests for information, in particular made pursuant to Chapter 25 of the Children and Young People Act 2008 (‘CYP Act’). Duties can include the retrieval, filing and preparation of documents to facilitate the handling of information requests and litigation.

The successful candidate will manage requests for Information made pursuant to Chapter 25 of the Children and Young People Act 2008 (‘CYP Act’) and, in particular, requests made pursuant to s 856C and undertake thorough search across CSD to retrieve all material relevant to requests for information.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

* Experience and/or a desire to work in a community services environment is essential.
* Experience and/or a desire to work in a legal or information sharing environment is essential.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and database systems is essential.
* Experience in the preparation of court documents and knowledge of the court and tribunal system and relevant procedures is desirable.
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra

* Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to 12 Months with the possibility of permanency. A merit pool or merit list may be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
