Details: Applications are sought for the position of Chief Executive Officer for the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission.

The ICRC is the statutory body in the ACT responsible for promoting effective competition in the interests of consumers. The ICRC is also responsible for the regulation of utilities and for delivering pricing services related to regulated industries in the Territory.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible to the commission for the management of the ICRC under the ICRC Act and other legislation relating to public sector management in the ACT. The successful candidate will be a visionary, strategic thinker able to demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop a small team comprising highly specialised staff with diverse multi-disciplinary skills. Effective in resolving new and emerging issues and implementing new regulatory approaches within a highly complex and dynamic operating environment, requiring management of multiple stakeholders.

Essential requirements: Experience in a relevant regulatory field at a senior level.

Tertiary qualifications in economics, law, financial management or a regulatory related field, ideally at post-graduate level.

Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $258,855 - $269,201 depending on the current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $229,915.

Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a long-term performance-based contract for up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
