Details: Within Infrastructure Canberra (iCBR), the Property Infrastructure and Electrification Branch is responsible for the procurement and delivery of infrastructure projects across the ACT, working closely with partner directorates. Exciting opportunities are available within the team, for professionals with excellent communication, technical ability, experience in project delivery, procurement and construction.

The Senior Project Officer will apply best practice project management, contract management and procurement skills in the execution of projects with a focus on effective liaison with stakeholders, safety, compliance and records management.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:  

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management, or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia, or
  • Hold a relevant building degree, or
  • Hold a Relevant building trade qualification, or
  • Have significant building or infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.

In addition, applicants must hold:

  • A Workplace Health and Safety Induction (White Card) or a willingness to obtain; General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • An Asbestos awareness card or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required prior to commencement, for further information refer to: Asbestos Awareness Training - WorkSafe ACT.
  • Crystalline Silica (Silica Dust) Exposure Prevention training or willingness to obtain – evidence of completion of training delivered by a Registered Training Organisation for Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention is required prior to commencement, for further information refer to: Silica dust - WorkSafe ACT.
  • Work Health and Safety qualifications (Certificate IV) or the capacity to obtain is highly desirable.
  • A current driver’s licence (car).

Membership of a relevant professional association and qualification/s in Procurement, Contract Management or Work Health and Safety are highly desirable.

Notes: There is one permanent position available and two temporary positions with a possibility of permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies over the next 12 months. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
