Details: Infrastructure Canberra is seeking an experienced Director Construction WHS to champion safety across ACT Government construction projects. In this leadership role, you’ll coach and support project teams, conduct site surveillance, and drive continuous improvement in WHS practices. Your expertise will help ensure safe and compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic WHS Project Delivery advice and coaching to project teams and Project Directors.
  • Conduct site walks, surveillance and other assurance activities to verify WHS control implementation.
  • Lead and support the team who coordinate and review Active Certification Audits, project incidents, and undertakes assessments of WHS evaluation criteria.
  • Identify and mitigate WHS risks through proactive engagement and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Support the development and refinement of WHS Project Delivery procedures, and training programs.

About You

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Qualification in WHS, Engineering, Architecture or Project Management; and
  • Experience in the construction industry.

Notes: The start date for this role is negotiable but will not be earlier than 28 January 2026.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
