Details: An exciting opportunity awaits for an experienced and motivated Senior Director to join our Delivery Housing team for 12 months with the possibility of permanent appointment. As a senior leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the ACT’s housing portfolio and delivering real outcomes for our community.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a high-performing team to deliver the housing capital works program on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Provide expert advice and direction on infrastructure projects, contracts and program risk management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across government and industry to support program delivery.
  • Oversee contractor performance, contract administration, and site-based activities to ensure quality construction outcomes.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven success leading large, complex, and politically sensitive infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage, motivate and mentor professional teams.
  • Expert knowledge of government procurement, project and contract management for high-risk, complex capital works.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or
  • Hold a relevant building degree; or
  • Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
