Details: Infrastructure Canberra is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join the Delivery - Housing Group for a temporary opportunity at the IO5 level. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to the ACT Government’s strategic housing delivery objectives and support the growth of the housing portfolio.

About the Role
Reporting to the Program Director, Delivery Strategy, Capability and Partnerships, the successful candidate will support the development of a comprehensive Project Delivery Framework to guide the growth of the Housing ACT managed portfolio. This includes exploring feasibility options such as standard construction and modular builds, and identifying opportunities to increase multi-typology residential housing stock across the Territory.

The role requires a high level of autonomy, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement. It will involve providing advice and reporting on housing policy and capital works delivery, supporting cross-government collaboration, and contributing to the development of key housing-related programs and communications.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in residential construction and property development, with strong knowledge of procurement strategies, project finance, and stakeholder management. You’ll be a confident communicator, capable of navigating complex environments and delivering high-quality outcomes under pressure. Your ability to align team performance and develop capacity will be key to achieving organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a strategic Project Delivery Framework for housing growth.
  • Provide advice and reporting on housing policy and capital works delivery.
  • Collaborate with ACT Government agencies and the Housing Coordinator General.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government and industry stakeholders.
  • Communicate project scope, progress, and aspirations to diverse audiences.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders across government and community sectors.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across infrastructure delivery activities.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

Mandatory

  • Relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or Building; or
  • Accreditation with a recognised Australian professional body; or
  • Significant experience in building, infrastructure, or project management.

Desirable

  • Experience in planning and delivering housing infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of ACT Government procurement and budget processes, or the ability to quickly acquire it.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of three months with the possibility of extension up to six months.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
