Details: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Support Officer to join our Program Delivery Office. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Project Controls, this role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of priority projects while supporting strong governance, reporting, and project control practices.
As a Senior Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery outcomes across a dynamic program of work. You will provide high-quality project and administrative support, coordinate reporting activities, and contribute to consistent, reliable, and compliant project processes. You will also provide guidance and mentoring to Project Support Officers and work closely with project teams, functional leads, and contractors.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality project reporting, including briefings, dashboards, presentations, and governance papers to support informed decision-making.
- Act as a central coordination point for governance and reporting activities, ensuring timely and accurate information flows across project teams and stakeholders.
- Provide operational support for project delivery, including meetings and workshops, action tracking, correspondence management, and procurement administration.
- Maintain project controls artefacts such as registers, records, and documentation in line with established systems and processes.
- Ensure reporting aligns with ACT Government policies, frameworks, and assurance requirements, including compliance obligations.
- Support risk management and lessons learnt activities, including workshops and tracking follow-up actions.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to project reporting and administration processes.
- Supervise and support team members, including performance management, and development.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in a project or program environment
- Brings strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrates sound judgement and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing project information
- Can work collaboratively while managing competing priorities with minimal direction
- Has experience with project management or controls systems (e.g. Objective, Aconex) – highly regarded

- Demonstrated experience working in a project environment; and
- Experience using project management and project controls systems, with familiarity in tools such as Objective and Aconex.
Notes: There are several positions available immediately for a period of up to six months,with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
