Details: Infrastructure Canberra is seeking an experienced Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to lead its Finance team and drive excellence in financial management across a dynamic and complex organisation.
As CFO, you will provide strategic leadership and expert advice to the Director-General and the Executive Leadership team on a wide range of financial matters. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accountability, compliance with the Financial Management Act 1996, and the delivery of robust financial governance.
About the Role
The CFO will oversee all aspects of Infrastructure Canberra’s financial operations, including:
⦁Budget preparation and management
⦁Financial reporting, analysis, and planning
⦁Development and implementation of financial controls, policies, and systems
⦁Driving improvement initiatives and ensuring alignment with organisational priorities
You will also represent Infrastructure Canberra at whole-of-government forums and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance financial practices and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
⦁Extensive executive level finance leadership experience within complex government delivery environments.
⦁Strong technical judgement and strategic capability in applying legislative, policy and financial management frameworks.
⦁Demonstrated experience managing complex funding and contractual arrangements, ideally for large-scale and multi-year programs.
⦁Deep understanding of the interaction between project delivery models, appropriations, budget management, reporting and audit requirements.
⦁Proven ability to provide clear, timely and evidence-based financial advice to senior executives and Ministers.
⦁Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build credibility and influence across government and with external stakeholders.

Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $289,335 - $298,258 depending on the current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $254,964.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
