Details: An opportunity has arisen in ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) for an experienced, highly motivated and organised individual to take on the role of Executive Officer to the Assistant Commissioner (ASO6) within Service Improvement and Community Operations.

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and managing administrative processes and systems to facilitate effective operations of the Assistant Commissioner’s office. This includes diary and meeting management, monitoring the flow of documents in and out of the executive’s office, and the preparation of high-level correspondence, reports and briefings.

Further to this, you will provide secretariat and minute-taking support to key committees and contributing to the implementation of strategic initiatives across the branch.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Must complete designated ACT Corrective Services suite of relevant training programs.
  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au)
  • To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
  • If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
  • A current driver’s licence is highly desirable.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal record check.

Notes: An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
