Details: ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking applications from passionate and motivated professionals for the position of Senior Data Analyst (ASO6) within the Strategy, Data and Research (SDR) team.
SDR supports the development and implementation of evidence-based strategies and policies for ACTCS operations through comprehensive data collection/extraction, analysis, evaluation methods and research.
SDR delivers high quality information, in a timely fashion to support key decisions of the organisation, the broader correctives agenda and contributes to national and international reporting and standards setting.
The successful applicant will support the development and leadership of innovative data practices in ACTCS, including the development of data automation capability, self-service dashboards, and improvements to reporting processes (e.g., through CORIS and PowerBI).
In addition, you will contribute to data governance practices, including improving the maturity of data collections through strong quality-assurance processes, documentation, adhering to clearance procedures, and contributing to broader governance projects (e.g. data dictionary).
Further to this, you will demonstrate strong organisational skills, including the ability to establish clear business plans, schedule priorities and workflows, drive projects to completion and show the capability to foster a positive team culture and nurture the capability of staff.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- High level technical experience with large, complex datasets and in using PowerBI (including DAX) is required. Knowledge of other statistical software (e.g., R or Python) is an advantage although it is not essential.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal record check.
- To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
- If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
Notes: Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
