Details: An exciting opportunity has arisen in ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) for experienced, highly motivated, career-oriented people to fill the roles of Director, Litigation Unit (SOGB).
The successful applicant will be responsible for oversight and strategic direction of the Litigation Unit for ACTCS and will support the Litigation Manager and Legal Administrative Officer to manage litigation matters against ACTCS, from commencement to finish. This includes evidence gathering for subpoenas and discovery, responding to queries from oversight agencies and liaison with the Inspector of Correctional Services.
In addition, you will have a key focus on providing expert advice on matters of legal risk to the organisation and will have responsibility for implementing legislative reform and associated legal projects.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- A partially completed degree in laws or a completed comparable degree and/or experience in the legal profession is highly desirable.
- Experience with the correctional environment and corrections management.
- Experience in using a range of IT business and office applications.
- Driver’s licence is essential.
- This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
- This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
