Details: The ACT Courts and Tribunal (ACTCT) supports the proper administration of justice by providing high quality support to judicial officers and tribunal members and high-quality services to those using the courts and tribunal. It provides the Supreme Court, Magistrates Court and ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) with registry, court support, forensic, corporate and strategic services.
ACTCT is seeking a motivated and technically capable professional to join its Corporate Information Systems team. As a Senior Systems Designer, this provides a senior technical advisory role focused on shaping the architectural integrity and design quality of ACTCT’s enterprise digital solutions.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director Digital Solutions, the Senior Systems Designer will provide their expertise input during the detailed design phase of a project. They will support the full solution lifecycle, collaborating with developers to design, configure, and implement secure, scalable Salesforce solutions. This hands-on role ensures each build aligns with business needs and maintains architectural integrity. It complements the foundational frameworks by embedding robust design principles into delivery and supports the capability uplift of an internal team of developers.
As the Senior Systems Designer, you will:
- Provide architectural review and design assurance across ACTCT strategic digital projects.
- Advise on Salesforce environment and data model strategy.
- Participate in design workshops, technical planning sessions, and governance forums.
- Contribute directly to the build and delivery of Salesforce solutions.
- Contribute to the development of strategic business cases.
- Deliver structured knowledge transfer to a team of developers that supports capability uplift.
About You
You are a strategic and technically proficient systems designer with deep expertise in Salesforce architecture and a passion for building scalable, secure, and future-ready digital solutions. You bring a collaborative mindset, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to uplifting team capability and design standards.
You will also demonstrate:
- Proven experience in Salesforce solutions design, particularly in early-phase architecture and enterprise-level implementations.
- Strong proficiency in Salesforce configuration, environment setup, integration, and data modelling, including Apex and Lightning development.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into maintainable, secure, and strategically aligned solution designs.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and quality assurance in fast-paced delivery environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on knowledge sharing and team development.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications or experience in information technology, business information systems, or a relevant field is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications or 5+ years’ experience in Salesforce.
- To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACTPS you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
- If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACTPS will be terminated.
- The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Criminal History check.
- This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People registration.
- This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to 12 months.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home and designated office based working locations across the ACT, flexible start, and finish times. Consideration for a work-from-home arrangement will be given to applicants residing outside of ACT.
Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
