Major Projects Canberra is responsible for leading and supporting the procurement and delivery of the ACT Government’s infrastructure programs. We deliver infrastructure for the Canberra community, improving our liveability, enabling a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable city.

The Northside Hospital Project (NHP) team will be leading the design development and delivery of the new Northside Hospital in Bruce.

The Project Team will work alongside ACT Health Directorate, Canberra Health Services and clinicians to plan, procure and deliver the new Northside Hospital Project. The Project is in its early planning phase with procurement of key advisors underway, ahead of procuring the main works contractor later in 2024. Major Projects Canberra will continue to lead the project through its various phases to completion, including:

  • Planning and procurement;
  • Decanting and enabling works; and
  • Construction and commissioning.
    The NHP Procurement Manager is a senior role within the NHP Team primarily responsible for the delivery of a range of time-critical procurement activities in relation to the NHP

  • Develop and maintain a process by which you will coordinate with the leads of the various technical streams within the NHP Team to understand their work requirements, to enable you to lead the development of a procurement register for the NHP.
  • Assist in writing procurement documents, financial reports and other documentation associated with project management of the NHP.
  • Provide comprehensive and effective management by leading the development of MPC reporting on project progress and finances, including the management of contracts, invoices and budget in PMARS.
  • Adhere to the government’s procurement processes in line with the Government Procurement Act 2001 (ACT), Secure Local Jobs Code, and the Capital Framework.

Eligibility/Other requirements
Desirable:

  • Proven experience in leading the development of procurement documentation for major infrastructure projects within the Territory;
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant technical field of Engineering, Architecture, Project Management or Construction Management or have demonstrated relevant experience in delivering significant capital works projects.
