Details: At the Suburban Land Agency (SLA) our vision is to create great places where communities thrive. Through greenfield and urban development, we build people-focussed residential estates and urban renewal projects for the people of Canberra.

An exciting opportunity exists within the Urban Development team to manage and deliver a significant urban renewal project. The Place Delivery Group is responsible for leading an expansive development program that spans suburban estate development and exemplar urban regeneration and renewal projects, including large-scale civil and infrastructure initiatives.

The successful candidate will apply their urban design delivery expertise through relationships and connections across Government, community and stakeholders, and management of consultancies and contractors. Involvement in other projects is expected over time.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Positions classified as an Infrastructure Officer require the occupant to;

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia;
  • Have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge; and
  • Have project management experience.

The successful candidate will require moderate to high knowledge and experience of land development, built form, project management, planning, design and construction processes.

  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 may be required.   • This position may involve direct supervision of personnel.
  • Relevant Tertiary and /or professional qualifications are highly desirable along with demonstrated experience in a related field such as: Project/Contract Management, Infrastructure engineering/design and Construction Management, Property Law, Architecture or Urban Design and Planning.
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Asbestos Awareness Card.
  • Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention Card.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk
