Details: This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead the administration and strategic oversight of the ACT Government’s dockless shared micromobility program. In this role you will also work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to achieve the ACT Government’s objectives for shared micromobility under the Dockless Shared Micromobility Policy. This includes working with operators who provide services in the ACT according to permits issued under the Public Unleased Land Act (2013). Oversight will be highly data driven to monitor trends, usage and compliance to ensure that services meet community expectations. It will also involve developing trials to drive mode shift away from private motor vehicle use.

As an Assistant Director in SPP you will be a highly motivated and outcomes focused leader with a proven ability to manage a project through to delivery and implementation, understand and work within a government policy, legislative and operating context, be innovative and achieve results.

You may also deliver related active travel policy and project work to support the ACT Governments goal of increasing participation in active travel across the ACT.

A proven ability in program management and working with user-friendly data management tools is essential. The ability to interpret and apply policy, legislation and is also highly valued.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating programs and projects, preferably in the public sector, for mobility services.
  • Experience developing policies, regulations, or guidelines related to urban transport, public space use, or shared mobility services, balancing innovation with public safety and equity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with community members, commercial operators, and government stakeholders.
  • Experience with procurement, managing contracts, service agreements, or permits with micromobility providers or other vendors and performance-based management approaches.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the TCCS values and code of conduct, workplace respect, equity and diversity framework, workplace health and safety best practice.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (such as urban or transport policy and programs, innovation, project or change management) or similar qualifications and technical experience will be highly regarded.

Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
