We are seeking a driven and innovative professional to join our team as a Assistant Director, Waste Design Review and Delivery. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on collaborating with diverse stakeholders, solving technical challenges, and shaping best practice waste management solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
In this key position, you will:
- Provide technical advice on development applications, focusing on best practice waste management solutions in line with internal policies, legislation, and DCC standards.
- Manage stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes by liaising on technical requirements, capabilities, and solutions. Your negotiation skills and ability to represent the organisation effectively in discussions with industry bodies and government agencies will be crucial.
- Apply your analytical skills to interpret, analyse, and enforce legislation and regulatory requirements while developing operational policies, procedures, codes of practice, and best practice guides.
- Engage with stakeholders across a broad audience using your excellent written and verbal communication skills to draft technical documents, reports, briefs, quantitative analyses, and correspondence.
- Leverage your organisational abilities to plan, prioritise, and deliver in a busy and dynamic work environment.
- Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management, or accreditation with a recognised professional body in Australia.

Eligibility/Other requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering/traffic/transport engineering, architecture or town planning and/or related disciplines is highly desirable.
- Accreditation as a Professional Engineer (RPEng, CPEng, RPEQ or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
