Details: WorkSafe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the WHS Commissioner. WorkSafe ACT achieves its objectives through a combination of compliance and enforcement, awareness raising, education, inspection, and investigation. It is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance by duty holders in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and associated legislation including dangerous substances, workers’ compensation, and Labour Hire Licensing.
We have an exciting permanent opportunity within our Strategy team for a Director, Communications and Engagement.
The Director, Communications and Engagement reports to the Senior Director, Strategy and is responsible for leading and overseeing WorkSafe ACT’s engagement, communication and media functions. The role provides strategic and expert advice to the Senior Leadership Team on complex communications issues and contributes to the effective delivery of organisational priorities.
Working closely with the Senior Director, Strategy, you will play a key role in supporting and communicating work health and safety priorities to the ACT community. This includes leading the development of high-quality communication materials, overseeing content for the WorkSafe ACT website, and partnering across the Agency to promote key activities and initiatives. As a member of WorkSafe ACT’s broader leadership group, you will contribute to organisational decision making and play a critical role in delivering our strategic commitment to regulatory excellence.
