Details: WorkSafe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the WHS Commissioner. WorkSafe ACT achieves its objectives through a combination of compliance and enforcement, awareness raising, education, inspection, and investigation. It is responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance by duty holders in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act) and associated legislation for Workers’ Compensation and Labour Hire Licensing.

As the Communications Officer, you will play a pivotal role in planning and implementing WorkSafe ACT’s internal engagement activities and events. You will create compelling digital communication materials that resonate with our audience. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Highly desirable

  • Understanding of internal communications and workplace culture.
  • Knowledge or experience of WHS, workers’ compensation and/or Labour Hire Licensing legislation and issues.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately, for a period of 12 months with possibility of permanency. A merit pool may be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position is in a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
