Details: Events ACT is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to fill the permanent role of Senior Director, Event Development.

In this role, you will lead the planning, development and delivery of major events that support Canberra’s economic growth and community engagement. You will oversee event development programs, manage funding initiatives, and work closely with industry, government and community stakeholders to strengthen the ACT events sector.

We are looking for a collaborative leader with strong research and analytical skills, experience managing complex programs, and a proven ability to build relationships and negotiate outcomes in a government or similar environment.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, flexible start, and finish times.

How to Apply: Please provide a written response of no more than two pages outlining why you are suited to the role, including your experience against the skills, capabilities and requirements in the Position Description, a current curriculum vitae and contact details for two referees.

Applications should be submitted via the Apply Now button below.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
